The Start

A great start.

After meeting with artists, deciding on plans, setting up agreements it’s time to get active. Photographer Lisa D’amario Bushee and I went to Kate Huntington’s studio in Bristol, Rhode Island to photograph her and Mark Freedman’s paintings.

A lot of Mark’s pieces are painted on hollow core doors making quite a statement upon viewing.  Thick confident brush strokes appear spontaneous from afar yet deliberate on closer look. His work is bold and inviting.

Kate Huntington is masterful with landscape and figure painting. Her consideration for each touch of brush to canvas is impressive;  her ability to turn a common scene into an intimate moment is breathtaking.
